Review
The male protagonist was different and I loved it
Typically, romance books portray a male lead as the confident, swoon-worthy, tall, and handsome man most little girls dream of as their future husband. Jimenez took a different route and it was refreshing! This book follows a shy, anxious, introverted male lead who catches the eye of a bubbly, charismatic, extroverted female lead!
Two equally weighed points of view
The story is told from the eyes of the female and male lead equally. Readers experience the same events through both characters as they overthink and overanalyze their experiences because of their personal history with relationships. I found this to be extremely insightful—it gave me the chance to connect to both characters and understand how relationship trauma can impact present relationships.

Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this book—I read it in less than 24 hours. It is the perfect book to help get you out of the reading slump!
But sometimes, I needed more. I wanted to see each character develop further, especially when their past came back to haunt them. I wanted more substance. I can’t even explain it, I just wanted more! I found the last 100 pages rushed and needed more events to ground the storyline and its resolution.
