Two things I loved:
The Characters
Colleen Hoover writes about characters that are so broken and yet, resilient. She added pieces about the history of the main characters and it makes you connect to their story even more. I found myself rooting for the characters and wanting to know how their story will end.
Broken Household
This book provided perspective: it helped me understand how terrible circumstances can be when you’re dealt a difficult life from birth. The storyline of poverty, an absent mother, and an estranged father added depth and a sense of humanity to the plot. I found my heart aching for some of their heartbreaking circumstances.
One thing I wasn't a fan of:
Honestly, I was losing faith in Colleen Hoover. She was one of my favorite authors before, but her recent books haven’t been the same. However, this one felt like her earlier books—the ones that had me reading all day.
I would like to see something more from Colleen Hoover. I wanted to see more relationship development. This was a nice read but I want more from the plot, something even more interesting.
