Remarkable World-Building & Character Development
Maas is my favorite author for her ability to build a world unlike any other. She builds these remarkable universes such that the readers do not get lost in the fantasy but dream of living within it. She is truly talented and I hope her books come to life in movies (with tons of funding) to bring her universes to the screen.
Multiple Love Stories to String Your Heart Along
Often, authors focus on one romantic relationship to build within their book; this relationship tends to be between the two main leads in most genres. However, Maas writes multiple love stories that include the side characters—and she does it so perfectly that I find myself rooting for these relationships even more than the main relationship. With Feyre and Rowan, Lysandra and Aedion, Lorcan and Elide…I find myself attached to these characters even more.
