Review
An enjoyable romance discussing divorce, parenthood, and grief
This book truly touched on many topics that aren’t typically discussed in the romance genre: divorce, parenthood and grief. These different aspects added nuance to the plot which made the story more interesting! Numerous full-circle moments tied all the subplots together toward the last 200 pages. I enjoyed this book!
One thing I wasn’t a fan of…
The slow burn was perhaps a little too slow for me. The first ¾ of the book gives a grumpy sunshine trope with the main characters remaining as friends. Personally, I need the plot to move a little faster as I often found myself wondering where this book was going.
All of a sudden, all of the full-circle moments happened in the last 200 pages which were so fun to read. I needed more of this action and excitement at the beginning! I also wanted the moment between the protagonist and her ex to be developed further—I just wanted more from their conversation. It felt very one-sided.
Overall, a wonderful read!
