So, apparently adulting and uncertainty go hand in hand. Whether it’s related to career, love, or friends, uncertainty is like adulting’s best friend; learning to cope with the uncertainty is essential during your 20s.
Uncertainty can stem from anything—it just depends on what isn’t secure in your life. For instance, if you have a long-term relationship with a partner you see a future with, chances are that ‘love’ is not something you are uncertain about. However, you might be uncertain about something else, like your career.
I think the first step in coping with this uncertainty is to take a look around you. Everyone else is going through the same thing in one form or another. Some people may be good at hiding the turbulent emotions inside, but trust—everyone has been there.
I ask you to find comfort in this understanding: this is a part of my journey, this is inevitable, this is a natural part of life. Dwell on this experience that we all share and find comfort.
You’ll look back in 20 years and recognize that you should have had more faith in yourself.
Trust yourself. Everything will be okay. You will figure it out.
