“Where words fail, music speaks.” - Hans Christian Andersen
After a stressful day at work or school, music can help enlighten the mood and help you relax.
Listening to music in the morning with a cup of hot tea or coffee can put you into a relaxed mood throughout the day as well.
Personally, I like to sit down, turn on my favourite music and take a minute to relax before I start studying. This helps me to gather my thoughts and encourage myself to push through the day!
Also, did you know music is used widely across the world for music therapy to cure alzheimer diseases and other mental illnesses? There are countless benefits in listening to music.

Here are a few scientifically proven health benefits from listening to music:
1. Music increases happiness
When listening to music, your brain releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that leads to increased feelings of happiness, excitement, and joy. It only takes 15 minutes of your favourite music to improve your day!
2. Music improves your athleticism
Music inspires you to move forward! Scientific studies show that runners who listen to fast or motivational music run faster than those who do not.
3. Music decreases stress while increasing overall health
Did you know stress causes 60% of all illnesses and diseases? Music has a direct effect on our hormones, which counteracts the effects of chronic stress. Don’t be shy to sing along!
4. Music improves sleep
A study shows that listening to classical or relaxing music an hour before going to bed significantly improves your sleep quality! Everyone needs a good night’s sleep, right? :)
5. Music raises academic performance
Listening to music can help you learn and recall information more efficiently.
