How would you like to spend your 24 hours in a day? Being productive is a decision. If you are feeling unproductive, ask yourself what the first step would be to become more productive. How can you spend your time more wisely? Use this blog post to discover your unique style of productivity!
Today, I’d like to share some of my productivity tips!
1. Wake up at the same time every day ☀️
Having a routine can be helpful when it comes to being productive. It gives you a sense of control and improves your daily organization. This is particularly applicable during the pandemic; with some classes still being offered online, we typically don’t have a set structure to our day. Sticking to a schedule can help you start on your tasks more easily because knowing what to expect is less daunting than stressing about what you need to do. The first step to building these routines can be as simple as sleeping and waking up at similar times!
2. Turn off notifications 📱
Do you ever find yourself checking your phone just five minutes into studying? I know how tempting it can be to check your social media. You may find it helpful to turn your notifications off during your study sessions to minimize distractions. If you find yourself needing more than turning your notifications to focus, you could also download apps that allow you to lock your phone for a certain period of time! This way you can study without being distracted every five minutes.
3. Don’t focus on being perfect !
Rather than spending hours perfecting your task, complete the task and move on so you can focus on other assignments. Being a perfectionist can be stressful, and it can give you anxiety. Let go of the need to be perfect. Finishing your tasks can give you a sense of accomplishment and it helps you to be more productive. Perfection is an illusion. Try your best and that’s all that matters! You can always come back to improve it later :)
4. Prioritize self-care 🌻
Too busy to make time for yourself? It is essential to have ‘you’ time and take care of your mental health; this also increases your productivity. Plan out a time in advance to enjoy your favourite hobbies or do something that makes you smile. Perhaps prepare a cup of coffee and cozy up in your blankets to relax ☕️ Make sure to plan a few minutes every day to take care of yourself.
I hope this blog was insightful! Good luck on your journey to productivity 💡
